Matthew is a principal in the firm’s transactions practice.
He has expertise across a range of industries and in particular, mining and resources, construction materials, property development, airports, construction, agriculture and not-for-profit.
Matthew also heads our hospitality practice, dealing with liquor licensing, gaming and property and other transactional issues in that sector.
Matthew draws on his extensive experience both in private practice and in-house for major South Australian businesses to provide clients with pragmatic and commercially astute advice.
Matthew has significant experience undertaking and advising on:
- share, asset, business and property transactions (on both buy and sell sides);
- due diligence activities;
- business structuring and restructuring;
- liquor licensing and gaming matters;
- various property transactions, including property development;
- infrastructure projects, including infrastructure delivery;
- internal investigation activities, particularly where arising in connection with environment or safety incidents; and
- large-scale procurement and outsourcing initiatives.
Given his extensive in-house experience, Matthew is also able to provide a unique perspective to clients regarding the establishment of internal systems and process to aid with day-to-day compliance and governance activities.
Outside of legal practice, Matthew is a director of Youth Opportunities Australia Limited, a not-for-profit organisation that has developed and delivers personal leadership programs to youth right across Australia.
