Yumin is a special counsel in DMAW Lawyers’ transactions practice.
Yumin is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and the Shanghai dialect. She has practised in Hong Kong, London, Shanghai and Australia.
Yumin is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with over 15 years’ legal experience gained from both private practice at leading US and UK international law firms, and as a senior in-house counsel at Fosun Group, a leading Hong Kong listed conglomerate with worldwide operations (including in China, Hong Kong, Australia, Europe, USA and Africa).
Yumin’s experience spans a wide range of industry sectors, including mining, renewable energy, manufacturing, real estate and hospitality, food and beverage, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, IP/IT, entertainment, retail and consumer goods and financial services.
From her significant inhouse experience, Yumin has a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in the APAC region, and a unique perspective regarding the interactions between various internal and external stakeholders in a transaction. Yumin is thus able to offer pragmatic and commercially relevant legal advice to her clients.
Through her broad network of professional and business connections in the APAC region, Yumin may also be able to connect businesses in relation to their inbound and outbound investments.

- Sale of 40% of the shares in Shanghai Weiyi Investment & Management Limited Company (which owns the Good Health brand of natural health products in New Zealand) by Fosun Group’s private equity fund to its existing joint venture partner Nanjing Sinolife United Company Limited;
- The USD 117.75 million joint venture investment in the Bougouni Lithium project in Mali by Fosun-controlled Hainan Mining Co. Limited with UK listed Kodal Minerals Plc, a lithium focused development and exploration company;
- Residential real estate development in Sydney;
- Ongoing management (including leasing, licensing and redevelopment options) in relation to 73 Miller Street, North Sydney;
- the approximately US$1.8 billion acquisition of Volvo Car Corporation by Zhejiang Geely Holdings Group Col, Ltd from Ford;
- Microsoft Corporation in relation to conversion of its Series A Preferred Shares of Chinasoft International Limited into ordinary shares, reviewing related investment documents and handling post-transaction disclosure of interest matters in relation to HK law compliance obligations;
- HK listing of Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd.;
- advising leading private equity funds in their strategic investments in Alibaba Group Holding Limited; and
- being HK compliance counsel to many leading listed companies including China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd., Franshion Properties (China) Limited (part of the Sinochem Group), Yunnan Water Investment Co. Ltd, China Mobile.
