DMAW Lawyers attend Fuelling Futures 2024
On behalf of DMAW Lawyers' Charity Committee, Irini Kourakis recently attended Fuelling Futures, a fundraising event hosted by the Universal Charitable Fund and Sol Results in benefit of KickStart for Kids.
Guests enjoyed an evening of drinks, networking, nibbles and fundraising at Mercedez Benz Adelaide where they also heard presentations from KickStart for Kids' Founder, Ian Steel, and his daughter, Olivia, who shared her unique experience growing up with foster children around the home.
Guests also heard from a resilient young woman who shared the details of her journey, from being kicked out of home as a child, to attending Scotch College and now hoping to attend University in the near future, thanks to KickStart for Kids and the support of her grandmother.
Well done to the Universal Charitable Fund and Sol Results for coming together to host this worthwhile event for a valuable cause.
What is KickStart for Kids?
KickStart for Kids was founded in 2011 on the belief that every child, regardless of their social or economic background, should have an equal chance to succeed. KickStart for Kids has strategically implemented programs such as school breakfast and lunch programs, mentoring programs, and providing basic clothing and healthcare support in South Australian schools.
Today, KickStart for Kids supports over 360 South Australian Schools, provides around 60,000 breakfasts and 10,000 lunches per week, and is supported by over 1000 volunteers.
