DMAW Lawyers attend 2024 Meritas ANZ Regional Meeting
On behalf of DMAW Lawyers, Bernice Witkowski, Tom Dachs, Seva Surmei and Nicole Mead recently attended the 2024 Meritas ANZ Regional Meeting, hosted by Swaab in Sydney.
As the exclusive Meritas member from South Australia, we take pride in representing our state at this annual gathering. The Meritas ANZ Regional Meeting continues to be a great way to strengthen connections with our Meritas ANZ partner firms, address key industry challenges, share best practices in management, and explore ways for Meritas ANZ firms to continue supporting one another while enhancing value for our clients.
Over the course of the three day conference, Bernice, Tom, Seva and Nicole had the opportunity to participate in an excellent mix of content, networking and activities including keynote speakers and presentations, workshops, panel discussions and more.
The schedule featured two days of expert session on the topics of strategy, leadership, culture and professional development. Day 1 of the conference was held in function rooms overlooking the giraffes at iconic Taronga Zoo, with day 2 at Swaab's offices.
Some highlights from the expert sessions were:
- Meeting New Expectations and Transforming Leadership Style with Collaboration, Innovation and Culture-Creation from author and Faculty Chair of Harvard Law Schools Impactful Leadership program, Michele DeStefano
- A Discussion on Engagement with Society from founder of Society Advisory, Yaron Finkelstein
- A Professional Development Session for Lawyers unpicking how we do business development activities, hosted by the ANZ Emerging Leaders contacts, Tom Swindells, James Skelton and DMAW Lawyers' Nicole Mead
Each day of sessions was followed by an opportunity to wine and dine at some of Sydney's best restaurants.
To celebrate the conclusion of the meeting, attendees were encouraged to join a guided tour around settlement precinct and markets "The Rocks", finishing up with lunch at the historic Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel.
DMAW Lawyers would like to thank Swaab for their generosity and Meritas and Sue-Ella Prodonovich for putting together another engaging and enjoyable annual meeting.
