DMAW Lawyers host charity and not-for-profit sector boardroom luncheon
DMAW Lawyers were pleased to welcome a group of charity and not-for-profit sector representatives for a recent boardroom lunch, hosted by principal Tasha Naige.
Guests were wined and dined over an industry relevant presentation from principal Paul Dugan. Paul discussed the ASIC v RI Advice case and its relevance for boards in relation to cyber security and the recent Optus data breach.
Key topics included:
- the increasing and ever evolving landscape of cybersecurity;
- increasing legal regulation and liability risk for organisations;
- lessons learned from ASIC v RI Advice, which demonstrated the standard of legal accountability, and requirement for specialist expertise;
- the need to embed cybersecurity risk management into an organisation's core risk management processes.
We thank our guests for their attendance, lively participation and interest in the topic. Special thanks to our Cyber Alliance Group partners for helping to spark some excellent conversation amongst the group.
