DMAW Lawyers’ hosts ACC (SA): Dr Stone on Prices, Policy & Power Plays

DMAW Lawyers were pleased to host Association of Corporate Counsel Australia (SA Division) members and prospective members at our recent event, Dr Stone on Prices, Policy & Power Plays.

Guests gathered on our rooftop terrace to enjoy delicious paella and take in a timely and thought-provoking discussion (facilitated by Matthew Fisher) with one of Australia’s leading economic experts, Dr Susan Stone, Credit Union SA Chair of Economics at Adelaide University.

Dr Stone shared her insights on the rapidly evolving global energy landscape, exploring the impact of geopolitical tensions, supply disruptions and price volatility on global markets and the Australian economy. The discussion examined how these forces are reshaping global trade flows, driving inflationary pressures and creating new challenges and opportunities for Australian businesses.

The session also covered a range of highly topical issues, including Australia’s energy security, supply chain resilience, ESG pressures, the global shift towards renewables, and South Australia’s position in the changing energy and trade environment. Dr Stone provided practical and accessible commentary on what these developments mean for businesses navigating economic uncertainty over the coming years.
