DMAW Lawyers attend and present at ACC SA's In-House Counsel Day 2025

As a proud sponsor of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) (SA division) DMAW Lawyers were pleased to attend and present at ACC SA's Adelaide In-House Counsel Day (IHCD) for 2025.

At the almost sold out event, held this year at The Sanctuary - Adelaide Zoo, we were pleased to present our panel session "Whistleblowers: Navigating the complexity". This interactive session was facilitated by Matthew Fisher (DMAW Lawyers) and composed of expert panellists Kylie Dunn (DMAW Lawyers), Kate Berry (G'Day Group) and Joanne McDonald (Kelsian), who each provided unique insight into the practical challenges of whistleblower complaints.

In particular, the session considered the “mad hatter” role of in-house lawyers as potential whistleblowers, eligible recipients and legal advisors and explored the necessary steps for effective whistleblowing, including the role of workplace culture and leadership, governance and incident response.

A big thank you to Kate Berry and Joanne McDonald for kindly giving their time and contributing their unique expertise to help make our panel session a success. Thank you also to everyone who attended our session. We are grateful for your enthusiastic and active participation, without which the session would not have been possible.

Well done to the other presenters and to the SA ACC Committee for planning yet another excellent Adelaide IHCD for 2025.

Matthew Fisher, Kylie Dunn, Daniel Jenkinson, Tom Dachs, Peter Varacalli and Bernice Witkowski thoroughly enjoyed attending this year and having the chance to connect with some of the best in-house counsel in South Australia and beyond.
